Zone of Zen provide deep tissue massage customers in Bedford and the surrounding area.
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, also called connective tissue. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massage, but the pressure will generally be more intense.
There are two types of deep tissue massage: effleurage and petrissage. Effleurage is the general term for both gliding strokes that use long sweeping strokes in long, flowing movements across the body. Petrissage uses kneading strokes that pull on deeper layers of muscles and fibrous connective tissues. Deep tissue massage may be slighly painful at times but it does not normally cause bruising.
